Summary

• Keep protected URLs intact during text wrapping, including when hyphens would otherwise split a URL.
• Clarify the option's behavior and add regression coverage for links and hyphenated text.

Validation

• PYTEST_DISABLE_PLUGIN_AUTOLOAD=1 PYTHONIOENCODING=utf-8 py -3 -m pytest -q — 198 passed.
• git diff --check — passed.

The test run used a local, uncommitted setuptools-scm version stub because the shallow checkout does not include the generated _version.py. No hardware, remote URLs, or real user HTML were used.
