Strange but True

Static GitHub Pages website for Strange but True, Luke Hayes' local mix of practical tech help, AI guidance, event/media support, grant and idea development, creative downloads, and early public-infrastructure game design for North Stradbroke Island / Minjerribah.

Live site: https://auraofintelligence.github.io/strange-but-true/

Current Focus

The site is moving from a simple service brochure into a working public doorway for:

  • local tech, AI, device, website and social setup support
  • political and public leadership AI advisory for elected representatives, portfolio holders, councils and mayors
  • event, projector, media and outdoor cinema support
  • grant writing, civic ideas and community project planning
  • paid digital music and writing bundles
  • the Community Ledger onboarding game
  • future public profiles, paid community-contribution trails and separate C-Hour concepts

Community Ledger and C-Hours

The proposed iCi/SOL/XRP pathway concerns paid work connected to community projects. It is an avenue for recording paid community contributions and a local leaderboard recognising them. Its implementation, public records and participation details are still to be developed.

C-Hours sit next to that pathway as a separate, non-financial record of voluntary human contribution. One verified C-Hour recognises one freely given human hour, with no monetary conversion. Paid work and the paid-contribution leaderboard are not part of C-Hours.

The digital music checkout is being completed for Stripe and PayPal, with live package totals of $20/$35/$45/$55 for any one/two/three/four completed albums. The dedicated order endpoint and payment accounts must be configured and tested before payments open. Digital delivery remains manual after provider verification. Public profiles and the proposed Community Ledger are not requirements for receiving a purchase.

The Licence

This repository operates under The Strange But True Public Licence.

We wrote a custom stewardship agreement because standard corporate licences didn't fit the ethos of the Braided Economy.

The short version:

  • Your data is yours: The .md profiles you generate belong entirely to you.
  • The code is a gift: You can clone, adapt, and improve the infrastructure for personal, community, educational, or regenerative purposes, not for resale.
  • Keep it free: Do not box up this underlying code or our creative works (music, art, writing, brand) to sell as a product.
  • Honest Provenance: Leave the tags on the shirt. Keep the attribution and links back to Strange But True so others can find the doorway.
  • Reciprocity: If you improve the public infrastructure, share your fixes back to the commons.
  • The Ethos: Use this to foster Joyful Responsible Abundance. Do not use it for extractive or deceptive purposes.

Mutual Futures: connected workbench

Mutual Futures connects this project with Luke Nathan Hayes's proposed mutual business succession, Try Everything Once, Intermittent Retirement, personal Aura of Intelligence, legal reflection, resilience, travel and wider civilisational horizon. The connection does not merge the projects or imply outside endorsement.
