CAASP and ELPAC assessments

Analyze data from CAASP and ELPAC assessments.

All categories share the same Student Group ID / Student Group Name table and Test ID / Test Name table.

Compare columns

• Compare with pairwise and a matrix.
• Compare year-over-year changes.

Useful commands

• uv run compare_cols.py --caaspp To view the comparison of all CAASPP files.
• There is a change to the blueprint of CSA data from 2024 to 2025. See California Spanish Assessment (CSA)/Understanding CSA.txt. Run uv run compare_yoy.py "California Spanish Assessment (CSA)" to compare the two files.
• Pipe the output to a file because it is too large for the terminal with uv run compare_cols.py > compare_cols.txt.

Upload to the database

1. Copy and paste the contents of create_table.sql and run it as a SQL query.
2. Upload to the database with uv run load_results.py. Make sure you have set up the database connection in the .env file.
